Safety tips for burning candles

All of our candles come with a safety label. This is to ensure our customers are well informed on the correct and sensible use of our products.

Please see below some key advice for when using our candles.

  • When using any type of candle, please ensure it is placed on a level, heat-resistant surface.

  • Ensure candles are kept away from furniture and curtains.

  • Leave at least 10cm between burning candles.

  • Always keep the wick trimmed to approx. 5mm between burning to ensure the candle burns safely and efficiently.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or around children and pets.

Care and how to use

  • When first burning a candle, allow the wax melt pool to reach the edges.

  • Burn for a minimum two hours and maximum four hours (or until all wax has melted around the candle top).

  • Always trim the wick to approx.. 5mm before re-use of the candle.

  • Avoid short burns as this can lead to tunnelling of the candle.

  • Keep out of direct sunlight, as this could lead to discolouring of the wax.

  • Ensure there is no debris on the candle wax, this could affect the flame and potentially cause smoke.

  • Extinguish candle when only 10mm of wax remains at the bottom. Do not relight.
